Between your tank and the ocean

A journal, and records, comparisons and Q&A for your tank. Because the two are connected, one discovery leads to the next.

Where the wild and our tanks meet

Acropora, Acropora tenuis and more: each genus and species page brings together how it lives in the wild and the public tanks, water ranges and posts of people keeping it. Fish, anemones, shrimp, clams and macroalgae have pages too.

  • Species pages under each genus
  • Water ranges of tanks keeping it (middle 50%)

FAQ

Who writes the journal?

The operator, Little Barrier Reef: reefs we visited, research summaries and interviews with people who work with corals. Anyone can read it without an account.

What can Reef bot do?

It answers marine aquarium questions and finds articles, posts, questions and tanks in REEF FOLK, using your own tank records too. Free accounts can ask 4 times a month, Premium up to 300.

Is it free?

Yes. Core features such as tank records, publishing and posting are free. A Premium plan (¥780/month) adds full-history comparisons and deeper search, but every feature is free for everyone until the community grows.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It runs in the browser on both computers and phones — no app install needed.

I don't want to make my tank public.

Each tank can be public or private, and starts out private. Location data embedded in photos is removed automatically when you upload.

Which test kits are supported?

When logging a test you can choose the kit or device you used (Red Sea, Salifert and more), and add your own if it's not listed.

Can I bring records from another app or spreadsheet?

Yes. You can import water records from a CSV file and check how columns map to parameters before importing.
